The Bamber family was living at the Malt Shovel, where the father was licensee, in the late 1890s and had three sons. Thomas died suddenly aged five. However, his mother refused to believe he was dead, with kept his body in a bedroom for several weeks. His little ghost is frequently seen, with he is dressed in white.
