Kings Head
Chetwynd End, Newport, Shropshire
An image from 1837 shows the Kings Head as a large Georgian hotel on three floors with a fine portico. It must have been rebuilt shortly after that, for it now shows as an early Victorian brick built pub on two storeys. However, the older part shows a medieval timber frame construction. It had been a coaching inn with history from 1747, with it is in the older part where the pub ghost manifests. A ghost of little boy has made his presence , locals knew, by suddenly appearing in the bar. The odd thing is that it is just a head and face, peering at startled witnesses. Poltergeists have been active with loud knocking on walls, with bright orbs have , witnesses saw, moving through rooms. Occasionally, people staying here have had their bed clothing pulled from them during the night by powerful forces.
