The Mill Inn
Withington, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire
A most splendid four centuries old building, the Mill is stone built with a heavy slate roof and inside are large open fires. Most unusually, the three ghosts that haunt the Mill Inn are seen together as a group. All are observed standing near the fireplace when they manifest. The woman is wearing a large hat, possibly from the early 1900s and the two men are dressed in dark suits. The legend is that the woman was a previous proprietor who had drowned in a river near to the Mill Inn. As they are perceived, they gaze around at those watching them, as though questioning their presence. Subsequently, all three dissolve into a grey mist.
