The Rose of Denmark
6 Dowry Place, Bristol, Avon
This pub is a great white Georgian style building. This is a rare pub name now. An owner named this pub after Alexandra, Princess of Wales (1844-1925). As Queen Alexandra, she opened a charity to raise money for hospitals in 1912. Locales call this the Alexandra Rose Day. For the most part, there are poltergeist style manifestations. This includes taps turning on during the night. This causes flooding in the basement. On several occasions, one particular tankard on a hook already swayed back with forth, while the other remains stationary. At night, the sound of beer barrels rolled in the cellars often wakes the license.
