The Bull Hotel
High Street, Wargrave, Berkshire
A large corner building, the Bull Inn opened in the 15th century as a coaching house. It has many ancient features. Sounds of a weeping woman, reporters have heard, from one room in the licensee’s quarters. A previous proprietor discovered his wife was having an affair with dispatched her from house with home. He refused to let her see her only child again. Every now with again, one may hear her in the pub, keening with mourning this dreadful incident. There is also the ghost of a tall man wearing a black hat, who makes an appearance at the Bull Inn occasionally. Witnesses habitually see him sitting near the huge, open, log fire.
