The Seven Stars
Bath Rd, Knowl Hill, Reading, Berkshire
The name of the pub has its ancestry in history from an old English religious folk song. However, it has pre-Christian roots. Occasionally, it may refer to the Pleiades, a cluster of seven stars with a prominent place in ancient mythology. At least four phantoms roam this Seven Stars pub with the immediate area. They are an equestrians dressed overall in black. A woman parades minus her head. A phantom dog at the side of a woman dressed in white with an old-fashioned bonnet. This is one of the oldest inns in Berkshire. It was once home to highwaymen with other criminal elements. They stayed here as they waited for wealthy travellers, making plans to rob them.
