White Hart Hotel by Marston's Inns
Bridge Street, Andover
A former coaching inn, the White Hart has a long history of poltergeists and ghosts. Witnesses have seen an exotic Green Lady gliding along a passageway accompanied by the sound of male footsteps and in another part of the inn witnesses have seen a woman walking with an elderly man. Frequently a ghostly man appears wearing a leather apron and numerous witnesses have seen a young girl at his side. One resident apparition appears only in mirrors before she dissolves into a mist and after closing time, there is the sound of beer barrels being rolled around in one of the bars and the yard. The ground floor is haunted b the shadows of a man and woman and even the ghost of Charles I who stayed at the inn when making his escape to the south coast.
