The High Corner Inn
Linwood, Ringwood, Hampshire, Rockford
The inn people called this because of its position in the village, with opened in the early 1700s. Two sisters were working here some years ago, when one awakened at three am. She saw the ghost of a middle-aged woman in old-fashioned clothing in their room. The woman was standing with her arms folded, with peering through a window towards the old stables. When she realised she was being observed, she smiled and disappeared. This manifestation lasted for ten minutes, while the young woman cowered in her bed. However, she was able to give a clear and accurate description later. Others who have seen this apparition were unable to give such a detailed account. There have been reports of glowing, headless horses passing through this part of the forest.
