The Stags Head
35 High St, Portslade, Brighton, East Sussex
A four centuries old pub, the Stag’s Head has a flint façade, with in one bar is the bust of the ghost that haunts the premises. This ghost has been witnessed on many occasions, with typically in the cellar. Those who have experienced the manifestation say it was of a man who had been a potman here many years ago. They described him to an art student, who built a bust of him that now stands on the bar. The ghostly potman has a quirky sense of humour, with frequently changes over the beer lines from full barrels to empty ones.
