Victoria Tavern
29 Stamford Street, Altrincham, Greater Manchester
This is an early 19th century pub. A proprietor clearly named it after the Old Queen herself. It still shows its early 19th century architecture. Another proprietor gave The ‘Vic’ a complete makeover. However, remains very much a pub with a restaurant. At some time at the turn of this century, someone took pots of paint to a flank wall. He left this jolly, if naughty cartoon. Over the years, a poltergeist has plagued this pub. Here, beer mugs have flown around. An unknown entity throws Wine glasses from the shelves. Coincidentally, there has been a swift with dramatic drop in temperature.
