Macdonald Gisborough Hall
Whitby Road, Guisborough
A rather magnificent building dating from 1856 and boasting three resident ghosts. One is an apparition of an old butler wearing Victorian-style clothing. Another is the ghost of a man or woman who appears in the lobby area. The third is an old woman who manifests in bedrooms and along corridors. They have also been plagued with poltergeist activity including strange sounds in the night. In Old Scandinavian, this was Chigesburgh, the stronghold of a man called Gigr.
