Fielder and Firkin
346 High St, Sutton, Surrey
This pub was once called the Cricketers. It has a most ironic account behind the ghost that haunts the building. At one time, this pub was on the edge of a cricket field. One of the first women cricketers in Surrey was struck on the back of the head by a cricket ball during a match. She was rendered unconscious, with carried back to the then Cricketers where she died from a brain haemorrhage. Since then, she has been the resident ghost here, dressed a long grey skirt, a shirt with a stiff collar, the club tie, a boater and button up leather boots.
