The Old Queens Head
44 Essex Road, Islington (N1), Central London, Greater London
The old inn on this site people used for some time by Sir Walter Raleigh when he was in London. Although that original building has long gone, the present one exhibits ghostly manifestations. these include a woman in Tudor dress and a small, unhappy, little girl. Every first Sunday in the month, there is most curious occurrence. The doors of the pub open and close, although no one is about, with then there is the sound of footsteps retreating from the inn. There is also the sound of the swish of a long dress and merry laughter. Occasionally is observed a woman wearing Tudor style dress. She is accompanied by a girl of about eight years old.
