The Chequers Inn
Hall End Road, Wootton, Bedford, Bedfordshire
A rather impudent ghost roams these premises. It is that of an old coachman or groom walking through the building on frequent occasions. As he perambulates through, he hurls beer glasses at the proprietor in attendance. His ghost manifests through the back bar from a door that no longer exists. The Phantom Society has investigated the Chequers Inn. They reported strange rapping sounds, with cold air ripples. Many of the employees witnessed a vanishing customer, who, witnesses see, from the corner of the eye to appear then disappear.
